We know it can be difficult to get an idea of the actual size of a bag or pouch just from listed measurements. See below for reference photos of all four sizes of our Live Oak Pouches:
FAQ
- In stock items should ship by USPS within 1-2 business days. Slight disclaimer - I am the sole maker here, and also a homeschool mom to three…life can happen, I appreciate your patience!
- Custom orders can range from 6-8 weeks depending on the item (which is why I only rarely open spots for customs! :). Check the detailed listings for each specific turnaround time.
- Once a package is picked up by the carrier, I am not responsible for damage that may occur in transit. I package items like I would hope to receive them myself, so hopefully this is not an issue!
- I currently only sell/ship to the USA. Apologies to any international friends!
All sales are final. If you receive your item(s) and there is damage or defect that occurred during it’s creation, please email me (hello@calletadesigns.com) with your order number and a description of the problem (pictures are even better!), and I’ll do my best to make it right.
What is waxed canvas?
Waxed canvas is a durable, water-and-stain-resistant fabric, that is perfect for everyday use. It will repel rain and moisture (but is not fully waterproof, so don’t leave your bag sitting in a puddle!), and it becomes a visible log of your daily life. Waxed canvas has “memory” in its folds, creases, and scuff marks, and you will see a unique patina emerge over time and use.
How do I care for waxed canvas?
- Do NOT use a washing machine, dryer, or an iron!
- Spot clean with a damp cloth, or use a stiff bristle brush to remove any dirt/stains. You can also find products to “rewax” your canvas if necessary.
- We love the patina that develops from any creases, marks, and scuffs, but if you want to minimize them, you can use a hair dryer set on low heat to reset the wax. Keep the dryer about 6”-12” above the fabric, slowly heating the surface until the desired look is achieved (always test an inconspicuous spot first!). Just note - this won’t completely erase any markings, it will only lessen them.
For Live Oak Pouches, Live Oak Clutches, or any bag that has weaving integrated into the design -
I use 100% wool or wool/nylon blend yarns for all weaving that goes into my bags. They hold up well, but if it starts to look a little worn/fuzzy, you can use a gentle sweater shaver (like the Gleener), to tidy it up a bit. Spot clean with cool water, but don’t get aggressive with it. Basically, treat it like your nice wool sweater :)
